Mar 25th SADC: Things I Enjoy Drawing

This is almost the pinnacle of things I like to draw: girls with long hair, familiar characters with silly expressions, and birds. Cats or birds. Still considering moving to tumblr. Find the sketch challenge over on tumblr here

Mar 24th SADC: Ulrika

This is probably the closest drawing I have to how I want Ulrika (girl on the right) to look.  I want her to have a bit of a homely feel to her.  Yay, yay.

Mar 23rd SADC: Considerations

So, I haven't had a lot of time to really work on and explore drawings in this challenge recently because I've been QUITE busy at my job. My job requires me to draw every day...which makes me wonder if I really need to continue this challenge. The point of the Sketch-a-Day Challenge was to draw EVERY day to improve my skill and keep me in practice. Now that it's my job to draw daily...I wonder if this is necessary.

 You've also noticed that I've repeatedly mentioned this challenge being moved to my tumblr. I am considering moving these sketches to there, but I'm concerned because in the blog I can RETRO-POST, and post on the days that the drawings were DONE on...but not the day I had a chance to upload them. I'm not sure I can do that with tumblr...which may make posts there VERY sporadic...or require me to make sure I not only draw but also POST them daily.  I'm still considering it.

Anyway, here are some drawings.

Mar 19th SADC: Fighting at School

I find this interesting. If you go back to March 14th's sketch, you'll see this same pair in the SAME situation. Clearly, the boy has been fighting and it's none-too-pleasing a situation.  I didn't INTENTIONALLY continue the theme, it was just what I WANTED to draw.  I think I relate to both of them.  I think it may be a window into my current psyche.

I was in bed sketching these after not having a lot of time. I started a new job this week and I haven't had much time for my own sketching. I managed to get a lot of sketches out tonight before falling asleep. I'm really happy about that.

Mar 4th SADC: Dog Attack!

I went for a walk this morning and was BITTEN on my right calf by a dachshund-terrier mix named "Marley". HUGE BITE MARK. Bloody. I'm alright, but it was fairly traumatizing as I've NEVER been bitten by a dog before. I'm fine! The dog is fine! March just...isn't a good month for me in the way of traumatic events....
